The Bishop Bronco JV basketball team travelled to George Whittell High School just north of South Lake Tahoe Saturday to take on Yerington JV and Truckee JV. All but three kids scored against Yerington and Bishop came away with the victory 60-7. It was a good game, as we had the whole team getting involved in the action and scoring. Scoring: Dom Dondero: 12 Devon Mitchell: 4 Jakobe Dondero: 6 Derrick Cortez: 8 Fidel Jimenez: 7 Heath Fuller: 7 Levi Williams: 7 Thomas Jackson: 5 Michael Spratt: 2 Truckee proved a tougher match but Bishop used tough defense, and a huge advantage on the boards to take the victory 62-45. When we play well, we’re a very tough matchup because of our size on the post on our ability to hit the three on the perimeter. Scoring: Dom Dondero: 17 Devon Mitchell: 13 Jakobe Dondero: 11 Will Kemp: 7 Fidel Jimenez: 5 Heath Fuller: 5 Derrick Cortez: 2 Michael Spratt: 2 It was a good trip for us. We had 3 kids who couldn’t make the trip due to injuries and sickness. We had a couple kids who played through their illness and provided some solid minutes. We’re looking forward to the beginning of league at Kern Valley Tuesday and then a non league game with a matchup at Lone Pine Friday. Richie Talavera with 8, Emory Dondero with 6, Wokoba Spoonhunter with 4, Brady Kalk and Westin Dondero both with 2 points. Game 3.
